This handy guide to adjusting bassoon reeds was emailed to me when I had difficulties with a reed I had purchased. Although I have a simple guide written out for me by my first bassoon teacher many, many years ago, it is falling apart and incredibly hard to read now. This reminded me of what I was taught then and also had a few more tips. Great to have in the case for whenever the need arises to adjust a reed.

Trying to keep reed costs down and find inconsistencies in ready made ones. Suspect I’ll end up making my own but this is a steep learning curve. One step at a time. The C&S pdf is a good first step, adjusting first and work towards starting from scratch :hand_with_index_and_middle_fingers_crossed:
