I have a thumb rest with a ring and was using a clarinet thumb cushion because there were none for oboe at my local music store. I was so excited to see people made things like this and I am glad I bought it!

Oboe thumb rest
Very well made but doesn't fit my instrument very well (Buffet Crampon Paris, actually made in Austria). Recess not deep enough and had to carve 2 corners off to enable me to engage hook of my neck strap.
Dear Eric,
It is a good job you are creative enough to make this work for you! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, hopefully other players potentially in the same position will take inspiration and make it work for them too.
Happy comfortable oboe-ing!

I've been using it for about a month now and I'm quite happy with it. My few criticisms are: It sometimes slips a little due to pressure (when assembling and disassembling the instrument), so it requires some attention. It would also have been nice to include a properly sized screwdriver for easy installation and adjustment.
I ordered "Abracadabra Oboe" (instruction book), which was to have come with 2 CDs. However, I received the version without CDs with instructions for downloading the tracks. I emailed Crook and Stable about this discrepancy but received no reply. I'm quite disappointed in the lack of response.
