Product Description

The Kolbl silk-microfibre bassoon boot joint (butt joint) swab is used for cleaning the boot joint after each playing. It is handcrafted with a weighted string on one end to enable it to drop down through the bassoon.

It is advisable for every musician to clean their instruments after every playing in order to ensure that the instrument always performs at its best!

(The boot joint is the very bottom part of the instrument)

  • 'boot' or 'butt' joint swab
  • made of microfibre to make it absorbent
  • weighted string to drop down easily through your bassoon
  • second string to rescue the swab if it should get stuck

A necessary accessory for the successful musician and to keep your instrument in tip top condition.

Good but a little too wide - sometimes gets stuck around the bassoon

The swab is fine and works well, however the drawcord broke at the attachment to the swab in fewer than 10 uses. I have repaired it and all continues well, but it should not have happened.
